Description

NaCl crystal cut at 35.3° to the grain and therefore with a different lattice-plane spacing than normal NaCl[100].
Designed to fit the goniometer of the X-ray apparatus (554 801).
For experiments in Bragg's configuration to demonstrate differing lattice-plane spacings in the same material and the importance of the atomic form factor for the reflected intensity.

  • Lattice-plane spacing: 325,6 pm (= 564 pm / √3)
  • Reflection angle for molybdenum K α radiation (1st order): 6.3°
  • Reflection angle for molybdenum K α radiation (2nd order): 12.6°
  • Crystal structure: face-centred cubic
  • Surface: parallel [100]
