Description

You can use the Nernst equation to determine the concentration of the ions that are involved very accurately from a voltage measurement (measurement of the electromotive force). In this experiment this is used to calculate the solubility product of various silver salts. The solubility product can be used to describe the solubility of a salt. The basis for this is the law of mass action.
