Controllable RLC load

Versatile, robust and controllable single-phase load. It has three channels with different load types: resistive (R), inductive (L) and capacitive (C). Each channel can be set individually in 15 steps. Coloured LED bars on the front panel indicate the selected steps and the status of the load.

The load is particularly suitable for teaching the fundamentals of electrical engineering, especially energy technology, to apprentices and students.

It offers three different operating modes.

Direct manual control: In this stand-alone mode, the load is operated directly on the unit via push buttons. No additional control devices are required and the load can easily be integrated into existing equipment.

Remote control: Via the analogue control input (−10 V … +10 V), the load can be controlled remotely, for example with the Power Analyser CASSY Plus 727111. Positive control voltages select the individual load types R, L and C in sequence, while negative control voltages activate combinations (R+C, R+L, L+C, R+L+C). Control is possible via the CASSY Lab 2 measurement software or the interactive Lab Docs experiment instructions. Scenarios are made possible by using CASSY SCADA. Thanks to the analogue control input, the load can also be used in other fields such as control engineering.

Triggered switching: A load configuration preset by the user can be switched on by an external trigger signal via the control input.

The OFF button disconnects the load immediately in any mode.

As a compact device, it can be used as a benchtop unit or mounted in a panel frame.

Load-dependent, regulated fans provide cooling and also allow continuous operation.
