How many eyes does an insect have? Are spiders insects? Why do some ants steal the larvae of other colonies? Why can butterflies smell with their legs? This impressive film about the world of insects provides the answers.
With over 800,000 species, insects are the largest class in the animal kingdom. They can be found in almost every habitat, in a wide variety of sizes, with striking patterns or well camouflaged.
The film explains the basic characteristics of insects, such as the division of the body into three sections and the number of legs. It documents differences but also similarities between insects and other arthropods such as spiders.
In addition, the way of life of social insects such as bees and ants is presented.
