Description

For investigating the thermal behaviour (expansion, pressure increase) of gases, for introducing the absolute temperature scale, and for determining absolute zero. Consists of a capillary tube open at one end, in which a variable volume of gas is sealed with a drop of mercury. The open end is treated with gas-permeable frit and silica gel to prevent moisture from forming inside the tube. Includes a glass vessel for the water bath.
