Frequencies of standing thread waves

LP1.2.7.3
Frequencies of standing thread waves
Frequencies of standing thread waves

Description

In this experiment, the students use a straightforward setup to make the vibrations of a rubber cord visible. In the process, they learn that a cord of a certain length l only forms standing transverse waves at certain frequencies, which are a multiple of the fundamental frequency f1. The influence of an additional weight is also observed.
