Description

A stepper motor controller having a resolution of 5 bit per step is used. A regular stepper motor needs 200 full steps per shaft rotation. Each full step can further divided into 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64 micro steps. Theoretically a resolution of 12.800 steps per turn can be achieved. However, a practical value for the step division of 8 makes practical sense. This ensures a very smooth running, which is very essential for laser applications.
