Description

The students learn that a helical spring exhibits standing longitudinal waves whose number of nodes increases by 1 when the excitation frequency f increases by a constant frequency amount. They determine the frequency amount. In addition, the students establish equations for standing waves in the helical spring. They calculate the number of oscillation nodes for standing waves.
