Description

This component provides a short-circuit for the TE₁₀ waves of the rectangular waveguide, i.e. it provides a reflection factor r = approx. - 1. The point of the short-circuit can be shifted mechanically. With the aid of the moveable short and a diaphragm investigations can be carried out on cavity resonators. Using the moveable short the Gunn oscillator can be adapted into a mechanically tuneable oscillator.

Design:
Waveguide constructed of aluminum, adjustable plunger setting is carried out with a micrometer screw.
