Description

System

The experiments are set up with experiment plates in profile frames. The controlled system or control circuit are activated with the Profi-CASSY and the relevant measurement values recorded.

Educational objectives

  • Get familiar with the basic principles of controllers
  • Setpoint and disturbance control
  • Handle analysis and simulation software

Function
Unlike hardware-based electronic controllers, digital controllers can be customised for the respective process simply by making modifications in the software. In this set, the special problems and opportunities associated with sampling control are investigated. The electronic PID digital controller as well as the CASSY Lab 2-based interface controller and WinFACT are used as controllers. Electronic controlled systems - some cascaded - facilitate the investigation of processes with defined, high order.

The equipment set incorporates student experiments which can be carried out in a laboratory safely using safety extra-low voltage. Experiment instructions are contained in a manual in either printed or digital form.

Target Groups
Students completing vocational training in electrical engineering for the industry and students of automation engineering and mechatronics are the target group. The course offers introductory experiments that are very simple and also addresses difficult topics for bachelor-level studies.

Add-ons

The following sets are recommended for further learning:
E 6.3.4.1 Controlling electronic systems
