Description

Leaf colourant contains chlorophyll as a colouring component. Chlorophyll is contained in the chloroplasts of all plants. Chlorophyll and the other leaf pigments are an essential part of the photosynthesis system. During photosynthesis, the absorbed light energy is converted into biochemical energy in the form of ATP (adenosine triphosphate). In this experiment, the spectrum of green leaf colourant is to be recorded. The compact spectrometer with cuvette holder and light source is used for this purpose.
