Description

In the experiment P6.3.2.3, the attenuation coefficient μ(l) of different absorber materials is determined for a wavelength l which lies outside of the absorption edge. This experiment reveals that the attenuation coefficient is closely proportional to the fourth power of the atomic number Z of the absorbers.
