Description

The experiment P6.3.6.5 demonstrates the fine structure of the tungsten L-lines. Due to the splitting of the energy levels there are approximately 11 transitions visible (Lα1-2, Lβ1-4, Lγ1-3, Ll, Lν), which can be used to evaluate the position of the energy levels and to demonstrate allowed and forbidden transitions.
