The COM4LAB course “DC machines” is the third course on the fascinating world of electric loads. The operating behaviour of DC machines is explained for different types of connection and worked out in practice using a large number of experiments. The course consists of 9 chapters.
Total duration: Up to 7 hours
Target audience
The course can be used to support the training process for the following professions, among others:
- Electrical systems fitter
- Electronics technician for machine and drive technology
Learning objectives
The learners should:
- be able to recognise the basic physical principles of direct current machines and
- learn the different connection types of DC machines.
Topics
The course will cover the following topics:
Previous knowledge
Learners need basic knowledge of direct and alternating current technology as well as basic knowledge of electromagnetism in order to successfully complete the course. They should be familiar with the measurement of electrical quantities. For this purpose, the use of simple formulae is a prerequisite.
