The Ostwald-Lillie iron wire model

LB1.2.2.2
The Ostwald-Lillie iron wire model
The Ostwald-Lillie iron wire model

Description

In this experiment, the students carry out a model experiment on saltatory excitation conduction. Stimulus conduction is simulated with the Ostwald-Lillie model. The students learn that the conduction of stimuli through regular insulation (axons containing markers), such as is given in nature by the Ranvier's lacing rings, is faster than the conduction of stimuli on axons without markers.
